a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering
Ephesians 4:32 – Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.
Lamentations 3:22/23 – Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.
Colossians 3:12 – Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Psalm 103:13 – As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
