ELUSIVE HOPEElusive HopeCover

In a colony named New Hope, while their friends are seeking a Southern utopia. . . .
Hayden is seeking revenge. Relentlessly.
After years of all but selling his soul to track down his scoundrel of a father, Hayden Gale discovers his search must continue in South America, where his father is reported to be helping colonize Brazil. Hayden has nothing more to lose, certainly not a good reputation, and vows to keep pursuing–at any cost–the vile man who he believes killed his mother.
Magnolia is seeking a way out. Desperately.
She’s in the jungles of Brazil against her will, but what choice does Magnolia Scott have? Her father insisted on uprooting their family to escape the uncertainty of Southern life after the Civil War. But how will she survive without all she holds dear—wealthy suitors, beautiful clothes, summer balls, and slaves waiting on her every whim? She vows to find a way to get back home—and attaches herself to handsome Hayden Gale.
As they journey toward Rio de Janeiro, they both seek to use the other for their own purposes. Deceptively. Falling in love was never part of their plans. . . .

What I love about reading MaryLu’s books is that it’s a little of everything! History, suspense, mystery, and romance. She does a wonderful job of bring Jesus into the storyline and just keeps me interested from the first page to the last!

  3. I absolutely love ALL of your Books Mary Lu! You have me hooked on your Pirate series and I’m about to begin reading this new one and looking forward to it! Keep up the great writing!

  4. LOVE MaryLu. She got me hooked on reading about ocean adventures, and ships and pirates, and of course romances that don’t stand a chance.

    • MaryLu is definately a talented and gifted author!! Glad you’re enjoying her adventures. My favourite aspects are the romances – the heartbreak, tension, trouble etc… Forsaken Dreams definately fits that category! Hope to read Elusive Hope soon.

  5. I love MaryLu’s adventures because they always take me to places I never dreamed I would go and they become so real to me – love her stories!

    • Her stories are definately worth reading!! I hope you get to enjoy the adventure soon.
What I love about reading is that you get to be immersed in a different world, and especially place yourself as the heroine 🙂

  6. MaryLu’s Elusive Hope sounds SO exciting – murder, romance, dysfunctional relationships, connection to the Civil War, Brazil, suspense. On my TBR list! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

    • I know!!! CAN’T WAIT to read this book!! Have you read Forsaken Dreams? My opinion, it is the best book of MaryLu’s that I’ve read. I hope you get to enjoy the adventure soon!! 🙂

    • Can’t go past suspenseful and thrilling romances! I know exactly what you mean! After reading Forsaken Dreams I wish I didn’t have to return to reality. Same applied to Surrender the Heart, the first novel I read of hers.

  7. This book sounds great. I have several books by MaryLu in my TBR pile, but I haven’t had a chance to read them yet. I hope to read one really soon, especially after reading about this one.

  8. I am really looking forward to reading this book! I love MaryLu’s writing, because she combines strong characters with life-changing experiences in challenging settings!! I am happy to discover your blog, too! 🙂

    • I hope you get to read it soon!! Forsaken Dreams was amazing and is one book I am proud to own. Her plot lines are definately worth the adventure!! I am a hopeless romantic and believe the strong character qualities give it more tension and heartbreak. And I also agree that there is always some moral lesson able to be learnt.
Thanks for your encouragement! It really means a lot 🙂

  9. I read the first book in this series, Forsaken Dreams, and really liked it, but that was the only book I’ve read by MaryLu (thought it certainly won’t be the last!). Thanks for doing all these interviews and giveaways, it’s been great to learn more about some of my favorite authors!

    • I’m glad that you enjoyed the book so much!! Forsaken Dreams is my favourite book of MaryLu’s. Another book of hers I recommend is Surrender the Heart. It is the first book of MaryLu’s that I read and it is nearly just as good – heartbreak, romance, pirates and determination.
That’s alright. I quite like doing these interviews and giveaways. Not only is it fun, but learning more about the authors gives some connection to their books. Hope you come back for Jody Hedlund’s one in a few week’s time 🙂

  10. I must get busy and read the first book, which I have! But, I won’t be able to start until after the holidays. I’m so looking forward to reading this series. Thank you for offering a copy of Elusive Hope!

My review is available on my blog if you’re interested, just under the book reviews page. Well, I hope you don’t have to wait long before you get to enjoy this adventure! It is one you will wish never ends.

  11. I am such a fan of Mary Lu’s books…starting with the Charleston series and then I read all of the ones I missed prior to and have been a fan ever since….I can barely wait until the next book is released. I enjoy the spunky heroines and all the time period information that you gather as you read the historical books. She is always quick to point out where our true hope lies and I feel she is a gifted author. I would love to win this book….but if I don’t I will be reading it somehow! Thanks for the opportunity and God Bless your ministry.

    • MaryLu is most certainly a talented author! The heroines are definately one of my favourite aspects as well. Me, being a hopeless romantic, the added spunk and flare just makes it all the more exciting!! Can’t wait to read Elusive Hope!! Forsaken Dreams is my favourite book of hers. Then I’m guessing you’ve also read Surrender the Heart? This was my first books of MaryLu’s that I read and it was AMAZING!! It made me question why it took me so long to discover her.

  12. I love reading any and all of MaryLu’s books. I love how immersed I feel in the story as I read her historical novels, and the page-turning style of each of her books. I am so glad there is a new release now!

  13. I have the first book in this series and would love to have book two! I’ve only read a few of Marylu’s book but always enjoy the adventure.

  16. “Elusive Hope” went beyond a page turner. Gripping story and I am very impatient to read the third book in the series when it is released. As this giveaway is for “Elusive Hope” I will not be entering having already read it.
