The Winnowing Season- Cindy Woodsmall

Forced to leave their home town thanks to a devastating Tornado ruining the King’s orchard, Rhoda, Samuel and Jacob are forced to begin a new life in Maine. Despite being burdened be secrets and challenges, are they strong enough to be able to establish an Amish community?
On the eve of their departure, Rhoda Byler is furious to discover that her business partner and friend, Samuel King, made choices that have placed her and her unusual gifts in the direct path of her new district’s bishop and preachers. She is afraid that the Kings will think negatively of her based on the influence of her new leader’s opinions, which clearly doesn’t reflect her true character and gift from God.
However Jacob King won’t be influenced by the communities’ speculation as he loves Rhoda and is hoping to build a future with her in Maine. But the ghosts of his past soon haunt him, requiring him to fulfill a great debt. Will this be the breaking point of his relationship with Rhoda? Samuel also has a secret, one that he will do anything to protect, even if it means alienating himself from those closest to him. Yet when he throws himself into rehabilitating the once-abandoned orchard, Samuel’s life takes a surprising turn.
In Cindy Woodsmall’s second installment of the Amish Vines and Orchards series the questions asked are: can the three faithfully follow God’s leading and build a new home and orchard in Maine? Or is this new beginning only destined for more heartbreak and ruin?

  1. I just finished this book and it’s wonderful, just like the first book. And the way they both end makes you almost scream because you have to wait until the next book to find out what happens! I just saw on Cindy’s Facebook that the publisher moved the release date for Book 3, For Every Season, up 4 weeks. So that’s one less month we’ll have to wait to find out what happens. The new release date is August 20th. Yeah! Can’t wait.

I like your blog and I’m going to enjoy following it and reading your reviews of Christian books.

I'd love to know what you are thinking ......
